Gulf of Mexico 2010: Seabirds and small marine life
Here is a collection of photos from our surveys by air, boat, and foot between June and September, 2010. Sad to say, we didn't have to travel far from the mainland to see many of these troubling sights. Others, such as the rookeries littered with carcasses of dead, oiled seabirds of many types, were on islands off the mainland, such as in Timbalier Bay, Terrabonne Bay, and the lovely remote Isles Dernieres to the west near Caillou Bay. Photo credits go primarily to our colleague Jerry Moran from New Orleans (nativeorleanian.com) and a group of talented young documentarians from the small company Red Bridge Productions.
